چکیده مقاله

In recent years, there have been rapid advances in laser additive manufacturing (LAM) as a vital element of digital manufacturing for precise 3D printing of complicated parts. However, due to the complex un-derlying physical phenomena, accurate understanding of the thermal behavior of the components fabri-cated by LAM processes is yet not well understood. High fidelity modelling and simulations can be used as effective tools for comprehensive prediction, optimization and monitoring of the process. Using three-dimensional finite element method (FEM) simulations implemented in Comsol Multiphysics software, this paper reports on the thermal behavior associated with the second and third layers additively manu-factured by laser assisted deposition of nickel alloy 625 mixed with 2wt.% nano-CeO2 on AISI 4140. The temporal and spatial distributions of stress and temperature as the key characteristics of the model are presented. The model provides a strategy for further optimization of the process by decreasing sources of crack-growths and defects-generating.
